About the Book
Despite growing up isolated with a self-involved father in Cornwall, Tamsin Penrose possesses a perennially positive outlook and sees the best in everything. So, when her father says he’s found a potential groom for her, she is optimistic and perhaps even a little excited—until she meets an enigmatic, unsmiling baron. Intrigued by his serious nature, she’s desperate to turn his frown upside down.
Isaac Deverell, Baron Droxford is unprepared for the storm of cheerfulness that is Miss Penrose, nor can he deny that she makes him—a perpetually dour brooder—feel good. He doesn’t deserve the friendship of someone so charming and kind, let alone the burgeoning attraction between them. However, when her father’s overzealous suitor arrives and won’t take no for an answer, Isaac protects her in a scandalously public fashion.
Forced to propose marriage, Isaac can’t allow Tamsin to see past his grumpy, protective shield. For then, she’ll know she’s done the unimaginable and married a rogue with a despicable secret. Tamsin believes they can find happiness, but will she still feel the same when his past is revealed?
